JobsInTheUS.com Hits Nearly Two Million Unique Visits in January

WESTBROOK, Maine, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JobsInTheUS.com, one of the largest Internet recruiting companies in the Northeast, has reached a significant milestone with nearly two million unique visits in the month of January 2007. JobsInTheUS.com is owned by Journal Register Company . During January, the company recorded a record 1,955,189 unique visit to all the state-specific sites combined. JobsInTheUS.com operates 18 local job internet sites including JobsInME.com (Maine), JobsInNH.com (New Hampshire), JobsInVT.com (Vermont) and JobsInRI.com (Rhode Island) and others. This comes after a milestone in March 2006 when the company reached one million unique visits in one month.

"We have achieved unprecedented growth in unique visits," said Matt Hoffner, President of JobsInTheUS.com. "It is an amazing accomplishment and truly a testament to our strong local sales and marketing model as well as to our superior product. It took us almost 5 1/2 years to get the first million visitors in a single month and it took us only nine months to get to nearly two million unique visits in one month." Hoffner added, "We did add several new state-specific web sites recently but the traffic from new states accounted for only 100,000 of this total number of visits. January has historically been our best traffic month, but we have never seen an increase of close to 50% in January like we saw this year."

Ed Condra, Senior Vice President of Operations for Journal Register Company, commented, "We are thrilled to watch JobsInTheUS.com continue to experience such phenomenal growth and success. A strong franchise like JobsInTheUS makes our success in the local online classified market easier to achieve. Our commitment to our local mission with our publications and our online presence continues to be an important part of our future in this industry and we are pleased that JobsInTheUS.com continues to contribute to our success."

Since the creation of its first site, JobsInME.com, JobsInTheUS.com has seen rapid growth. With over 40,000 job openings posted in the 4th quarter of 2006, and now nearly 2,000,000 unique visits in January 2007, JobsInTheUS.com is one of the largest Internet job sites in the northeast United States and serves more than 20,000 employers.
