NEW YORK, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XL Capital Assurance Inc. (XLCA), a triple A-rated financial guarantee company, announced today the appointment of Kieran M. McShane as head of fixed-income investor relations where he will serve as a liaison between XLCA and investors in XLCA-insured bonds. Mr. McShane, who will be based in New York, will report to Francis C. Constantinople, head of investor relations for Security Capital Assurance Ltd ("SCA") , XLCA's parent company.

Mr. McShane joins XLCA from Financial Security Assurance Inc. (FSA), where he spent three years as a vice president responsible for investor relations. Before joining FSA, Mr. McShane worked for four years at Moody's Investors Service, where he was a vice president responsible for institutional marketing of the structured finance business. Previously, Mr. McShane spent eight years with financial advisory firm, Duff & Phelps, as a group vice president responsible for sales and marketing and for developing a network of institutional investors.
