VANCOUVER, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amerigo Resources Ltd. (TSX:ARG) ("Amerigo" or the "Company") reported today that on February 24, 2007 the Company's board of directors declared a semi-annual dividend of Cdn 6.5 cents per share, payable on April 4, 2007 to shareholders of record on March 27, 2007. This level of dividend represents an increase of approximately 45% from that paid on September 1, 2006.
Company Chairman Steven Dean said, "The board continues to focus on seeking to achieve strong returns to shareholders through a combination of capital appreciation, dividends, and its Issuer Bid share buy-back program."
Amerigo has to date acquired a total of 712,600 of its shares, and has approval to acquire up to a further 2,086,415 shares.
