SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aerojet, a GenCorp Inc. company, has recently signed a letter contract with Lockheed Martin , prime contractor for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), to begin production of Boost Motors for the new missile defense system. This effort is scheduled to occur in parallel with the completion of the current development program, thus enabling near-term operational capability and deployment. "This letter contract marks the beginning of THAAD production in Sacramento and will provide production through at least 2009," says Charlie Meraz, Aerojet THAAD program manager.
