Branding Expert Jeff Swystun Joins DDB Worldwide Communications Group

NEW YORK, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- DDB Worldwide Communications Group President and CEO Chuck Brymer announced today the appointment of Jeff Swystun as Director of Global Communications with responsibility for the DDB Worldwide brand, knowledge management and intellectual capital.

Swystun joins DDB from Interbrand, the branding consultancy, where he served as Global Director with responsibility for Interbrand's brand and marketing. He also chaired the strategy, brand valuation and awards committees as well as the Interbrand Foundation. Both DDB and Interbrand are divisions of Omnicom Group Inc. .

Brymer said, "DDB works for great brands and is, itself, a great brand. Too many times in this industry, agencies put their own brand on hold while building their clients' businesses. Having Jeff on board ensures that DDB is looking after both."

Prior to Interbrand, Swystun held senior leadership roles in financial and professional services firms, including Assante Corp., Pollard Banknote and Price Waterhouse, where he headed the Global Intelligence Program. He also served on the firms' global positioning task force and developed methodologies in marketing and strategy.

A prolific speaker and writer, Swystun is a guest columnist in publications including Marketing Magazine, INFOBRAND, and Brandchannel.com. He appears regularly on CNBC to discuss marketing related topics. Swystun also has appeared on ABC, NBC, CNN, CTV, CBC and BBC television and radio. He serves as the branding and marketing expert for the Society of Industry Leaders, a branch of Standard & Poor's, and is a member of the Design Management Institute.

"DDB has built its reputation by continually challenging standard convention. Its strategy to increase investment behind its brand reflects that philosophy. I look forward to being a key player in the development of the DDB brand," Swystun said.

DDB Worldwide (http://www.ddb.com/), twice named The Gunn Report's Most Awarded Agency Network, named the World's Top Network in Europe by The Gunn Report in 2006, which also named DDB London the Most Awarded Agency in the World.
