SAN FRANCISCO, March 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company today named Des Bell as utility chief of staff and vice president, effective Monday, March 19. Bell will report to President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Morrow. In his new role, Bell will be responsible for overseeing the company's ongoing business transformation initiative, process improvement efforts and all utility administration work, including tracking key projects.

Bell comes to PG&E with 25 years of experience in operations and strategic development, including expertise in areas ranging from customer service to manufacturing and supply chain logistics and management. Previously, Bell served as vice president of Bombardier Aerospace's parts logistics business in Montreal. There, he held several senior general management roles in Canada and Europe with responsibility for areas including business process transformation, Six Sigma and business process integration.
Bell earned his higher national diploma in aerospace engineering from the College of Technology in Belfast. He also has a Masters Degree in engineering business management from the University of Warwick.
