ST. GEORGE, Utah, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. and the nation's largest independently owned regional airline with more Salt Lake City departures than any other carrier, is hosting a career fair Wednesday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, 161 W. 600 South in Salt Lake City. Celebrating 35 years this summer, SkyWest has recently announced expansions in various locations throughout the United States -- identifying the Salt Lake City hub as a market of focus.
While Wednesday's event will include interviews for positions ranging from flight attendants, customer service and ramp agents, pilots, and maintenance personnel, Suzanne Stephensen, SkyWest Airlines director of corporate recruitment and people programs explains that it's also about promoting awareness.
"Certainly our department recruiters will be on hand for interviews," Stephensen explained, "but Wednesday's event is also about raising community awareness. We're celebrating our 35th Anniversary as a company this year; and there are a lot of future fliers, aviation enthusiasts and people who just love to travel we'd love to reach. There's something for everyone at SkyWest, and we want to share our excitement."
In addition to competitive pay rates, SkyWest's "Total Rewards" compensation package includes a combination of any of the following: health benefits, stock purchase and 401(k) plans, and a groundbreaking "Performance Rewards" incentive program tied to the company's operational goals. The program fosters teamwork and unity, and was created for employees to share in the bottom line of the company's success.
Travel privileges are also part of SkyWest's "Total Rewards." Team members in Salt Lake have access to SkyWest's and Delta Air Lines' national and international route systems, as well as a myriad of hotel, cruise lines, rental car agencies and resort discounts.
"With more than 250 daily SkyWest departures from Salt Lake City and travel benefits even more vast than our route map, our employees' options are limitless," said Stephensen. "What seems impossible for most folks is a way of life for us." Stephensen, an 18-year employee explained that "for 35 years our employees have been traveling to extraordinary destinations and been given extraordinary opportunities. We're celebrating our extraordinary journey, and welcome any one to Wednesday's event who might be interested in finding out more about that extraordinary journey too."
