R/GA garnered the highest possible score in brand image work, defined as the way a site supports the overall brand positioning and its consistency across other channels. "R/GA continues to be a leader in delivering outstanding brand experiences" and should be "a top choice for online branding." The report went on to say that when Forrester evaluated R/GA's brand image work, they gave one of the agency's sites the only perfect score granted, 12 out of a possible 12.
R/GA also received one of the two highest scores for Strategy, for both transaction-led and image-led brand projects. The report cited factors that contributed to the overall high score -- specifically, a "focus on creative excellence and the integration of design and technology" along with its "investment in technology innovation, and Web innovations like the NIKEiD product customization." It went on to highlight R/GA's commitment to emerging technologies, describing the agency's strong expertise in "social networking, consumer-generated content, mobile devices and 'experimental engagement' through technologies like digital billboards and RFID." The report also mentioned the 2006 creation of the Mobility and Emerging Media/Applications (MEMA) group dedicated to research and development.
"R/GA has always strived to give our clients an overall vision of the changing marketplace, along with solid digital strategies," says Bob Greenberg, Chairman, CEO and Global Chief Creative Officer. "We consider Forrester's recognition of these principles in our client work a tremendous accolade."
The overall Strategy score was based on an analysis of various criteria, including each agency's vision, market positioning, ability to leverage emerging Web technologies, and industry focus. Another factor included examining agency engagements, which were divided into transaction-led and image-led projects. Transaction-led projects were defined by Forrester as typically eCommerce initiatives with a focus on maximizing conversion rates and minimizing service costs. Image-led projects were defined as brand- building efforts requiring standout creative that differentiated a client's products and services from those of its competitors.
