TAMPA, Fla., April 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Walter Industries, Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Catherine C. Bona vice president - corporate secretary for the Company.

Bona has been with Walter Industries since 1995, serving previously as assistant general counsel. She will continue in that role, as well, and will continue to report to Vice Chairman/General Counsel Vic Patrick.

In her new role, Bona will be responsible for coordinating board of director and executive committee meetings, the company's annual shareholder meeting and other corporate governance matters.
Bona holds a law degree from St. Johns University School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY. She is a member of the Florida, New York and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations.
