SEATTLE, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Safeco has deployed claims professionals to help Midwest customers recover from this weekend's devastating storms.

Safeco claims team members arrived in Southwest Kansas today to assist customers in Greensburg, Kiowa County, which was declared a major disaster area Saturday.
Meanwhile, additional personnel will be deployed throughout the region today to help customers impacted by Saturday night storms. According to the National Weather Service, more than 75 tornado touchdowns were reported yesterday in South Dakota, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.
"Our customers in the Greensburg area have suffered significant damages from Friday's storm, which was one of the most devastating tornadoes we've seen in Kansas," said Robert Johnston, Safeco's National Property Claims leader.
"Safeco is on the ground to assist Greensburg-area customers today, and we're moving quickly to help others throughout the region impacted by Saturday storms."
