Tronox Stockholders Elect Directors, Approve Ernst & Young LLP as Auditor


OKLAHOMA CITY, May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stockholders of Tronox Incorporated elected Thomas W. Adams and Peter D. Kinnear to the company's board of directors during Tronox's Annual Meeting of Stockholders today. Stockholders also ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the company's independent auditors.

Adams, Tronox chairman and chief executive officer, and Kinnear, president, chief executive officer and member of the board of FMC Technologies, Inc., will serve three-year terms, expiring at the 2010 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

Adams, 46, was named to his current position in March 2006. He became chief executive officer and a member of the board of Tronox in 2005. With more than 25 years of business experience, he has led the company since its separation from Kerr-McGee Corp. in 2006. Adams serves as a member of the board of directors of the United Way of Central Oklahoma and Allied Arts.

Kinnear, 60, has served as a director of Tronox since 2005 and as lead director since August 2006. He joined FMC in 1971 and held positions of increasing responsibility. He became president and chief operating officer and a member of the board in 2006 and was named to his current position in March 2007. Kinnear serves as a director of the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association and the Offshore Energy Center.

Headquartered in Oklahoma City, Tronox is the world's third-largest producer and marketer of titanium dioxide pigment, with an annual production capacity of 642,000 tonnes. Titanium dioxide pigment is an inorganic white pigment used in paint, coatings, plastics, paper and many other everyday products. The company's five pigment plants, which are located in the United States, Australia, Germany and the Netherlands, supply high-performance products to approximately 1,100 customers in 100 countries. In addition, Tronox produces electrolytic products, including sodium chlorate, electrolytic manganese dioxide, boron trichloride, elemental boron and lithium manganese oxide.
