Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. Hosts Annual Meeting of Shareholders

WARRENTON, Va., May 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fauquier Bankshares, Inc. , conducted its 2007 Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 15, 2007. The holding company for The Fauquier Bank met with shareholders at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton.

The meeting was conducted by C. H. Lawrence, Chairman. The Board of Directors currently consists of ten directors. Shareholders were asked to consider and vote on a proposal to elect four directors to serve until the 2010 annual meeting of shareholders.

Randy K. Ferrell has been a director of the Company since 2003 and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. Brian S. Montgomery has been a director of the Company and a director of the Bank since 1990. Mr. Montgomery has been owner and President of Warrenton Foreign Car, Inc. and Montgomery Auto Parts, both located in Warrenton, Virginia, since 1972. P. Kurt Rodgers has been a director of the Company and a director of the Bank since March 2007. Mr. Rodgers is President and Chief Operating Officer of S. W. Rodgers Co., Inc., a heavy highway site contractor headquartered in Gainesville, Virginia that operates throughout Virginia. Sterling T. Strange, III, 46, has been a director of the Company and the Bank since March 2007. Mr. Strange is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Solution Design Group, Inc., an information technology consulting firm to the transportation industry located in Warrenton, Virginia and Orlando, Florida.

Shareholders were asked to ratify the selection of Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC as the Company's independent public accountants to audit the financial statements of the Company and its subsidiaries for the current year.

The Bank announced that the election of the four directors and ratification of the independent public accountants were approved by its shareholders.

Randy K. Ferrell, President and Chief Executive Officer, reviewed the Company's and The Fauquier Bank's accomplishments and financial performance for 2006. Additionally, he announced that the Board of Directors approved a quarterly dividend of $0.20, a 5.3% increase from the prior quarter's dividend.
