Dorex Minerals Inc. - News Release

VANCOUVER, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mr. Walton, President of Dorex Minerals Inc. (TSXV: DOX) is pleased to report that a first phase exploration program on the Company's 100% owned Carmelita property, located 55 kilometers north east of La Serena, Chile has been completed. The program was designed as a preliminary evaluation of the potential for widespread porphyry or IOCG (Iron Ore Copper Gold) style mineralization as well as evaluating the potential for smaller, higher grade structurally controlled shear zone hosted copper oxide mineralization. Recently completed work consisted of road building, prospecting, geological mapping, wide space soil and rock sampling, trenching and assaying.

The program was successful in identifying a number of mineralized structures and alteration zones. A total of 56 mineralized structures were identified, most of which were found trending east-west with another set trending north-south. These structures ranged in thickness from 0.20 to 6.85 meters in thickness and traced from tens to hundreds of meters of strike extent. At total of 96 chip samples were taken along these structures.

In the western portion of the property, zones of widespread hydrothermal alteration and dissemination sulphide mineralization was found. Chip sampling along approximately 220 meters of out crop was taken and another continuous chip sample was taken over an outcrop of 48 meters.

In all, 123 samples were taken during this program and have been submitted to ACME Analytical Laboratories S.A., Santiago, Chile. The Company will release results once they have all been received and compiled to select drill targets.

The Carmelita Property is underlain by mid - Cretaceous rocks of the Cerrillos Formation of the Bandurrias Group, comprised mainly andesites, andesite agglomerates and porphyritic andesites with intrusive stocks. The eastern portion of the property, rocks of this type are in contact with late Tertiary grandodirites.

Previous work preformed on the Carmelita Property by Stephen Kenwood and samples taken from clean outcroppings, surface showings and workings (pit) has exposed mineralization up to 10 meters below the surface, in that locality. The copper content of the samples were from 4.59% to 0.5 % Cu.
