CAE wins contracts for five full-flight simulators valued at C$70 million

MONTREAL, May 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Montreal, May 28, 2007 - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE announces contracts for the sale of five full-flight simulators (FFSs). At list prices, the contracts are valued at C$70 million and bring the total FFS sales that CAE has announced so far in fiscal 2008 to 10.

"We are delighted these customers continue to place their trust and confidence in CAE as the industry's premier provider of the true fidelity simulation equipment to support pilot training programs," said Marc Parent, CAE's Group President, Simulation Products and Military Training & Services. "We're particularly pleased that Nippon Cargo and Embraer have selected CAE as we have a unique history of developing prototype simulators for new aircraft and we look forward to adding the new Boeing 747-8F and the new Phenom LJs and VLJs to our list of industry firsts."

Nippon Cargo Airlines

CAE won a contract to build one CAE 7000 Series full-flight simulator (FFS) and a suite of Boeing 747 ground school training devices for Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA), including the industry's first FFS for the new Boeing 747-8 Freighter.

CAE will design and manufacture a CAE 7000 Series B747-400 FFS that can also be converted to a B747-8F simulator, subject to Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) approval. In addition, CAE will provide NCA with a suite of CAE Simfinity(R) training devices, including a B747 Level 5 flight training device (FTD), two B747 integrated procedures trainers (IPTs), and 24 CAE Simfinity VSIMs. The B747 FFS will feature the new CAE True(TM) electric motion system and CAE's next-generation visual solution, including LCoS projectors.

NCA is a launch customer for the B747-8F aircraft. It will begin receiving its B747-8F aircraft in late 2009.

Lufthansa Flight Training

CAE also won an order from Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) for a Bombardier Q400 CAE 5000 Series simulator. LFT was one of CAE's launch customers for the 5000 Series.

The Q400 5000 Series FFS for LFT will feature the CAE True(TM) electric motion system, LCoS projectors, and the CAE Tropos-6000 visual system. LFT has now ordered a total of 28 CAE simulators since 1980.

"LFT has always been an industry-leader in implementing the latest and most innovative technology, and the CAE 5000 Series promises to be a breakthrough product that will serve the training requirements of LFT and our customers," said Florian Hamm, CEO of Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH.

CAE-Embraer planned joint venture

As discussed at EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition), the CAE-Embraer planned training joint venture committed to two CAE 5000 Series Phenom full-flight simulators. The global joint venture announced in October 2006 will provide entitlement training and post-entitlement training for pilots and ground crew personnel of the Phenom 100 Very Light Jet (VLJ) and Phenom 300 a Light Jet (LJ) aircraft. One simulator will be delivered to CAE's training centre in Dallas in 2008 and the other to CAE's training centre in the U.K. in 2009.

Ansett Flight Simulator Centre

CAE sold an A320 simulator to Aviation Training Australasia, which trades as Ansett Flight Simulator Centre. The simulator will be installed in the Ansett facility in Melbourne this summer.
