International Absorbents' Jesup General Manager Announces Retirement


FERNDALE, Wash., June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Absorbents Inc. , a leading developer and producer of environmentally-friendly pet care and industrial products, today reported that its Jesup, Georgia General Manager, John Swingle, has announced his retirement, effective June 4, 2007.

John Swingle came out of retirement to accept the challenge of commissioning and staffing International Absorbents' Jesup, Georgia facility in January of 2004. In just three years the Jesup facility has become Absorption Corp's (International Absorbents' wholly-owned subsidiary) leading producer of animal bedding. The Company's two fastest growing product lines, CareFRESH(R) Colors(TM) and CareFRESH(R) Ultra(TM) were developed during his tenure and are now produced in Jesup.

"We were fortunate to find a senior manager with a such a strong background in pulp and paper to take us through the commissioning, training and product development stages of our Jesup facility," stated Doug Ellis, President of Absorption Corp. "John has done a great job of navigating us through this phase of our growth and is leaving a solid foundation from which we can continue to grow."

The Jesup facility's production manger, Scott Ballard, will assume the position of General Manager effective immediately.

"Scott has been with us since early last fall and has a solid background in process and plant management," added Mr. Ellis. "Over the past few months Scott has proven his commitment and abilities to continue the superior work John has fostered in Jesup."

Mr. Swingle will remain with the Company for the next few months, sharing duties with Scott and in a supporting and back up function for the facility.
