CHICAGO, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Vecta, the leader in developing conferencing and training spaces, today introduced a new powered conference room table - Host(TM) - at NeoCon 2007, the World's Trade Fair for Interior Design and Facilities Management. The table, which enables a variety of technology applications without sacrificing graceful design details, is the result of extensive research on conference room communication needs.
In recent years, conference rooms have evolved from an open room for meetings to a multi-media room, with users demanding the ability to easily plug in laptop computers and access patch cords. Users must be able to share information seamlessly and conference room tables must accommodate the flow of technology. Host aims to literally "host" technology by providing numerous integration points for a variety of media types, such as projectors, plasma screens and multi-screen displays. While the table is hard working, technology support is discreet, so Host's simple, sophisticated lines are uninterrupted.

Host features accessible Technology Access Points (TAPs) for people on either side of the table. Additionally, each TAP opens to provide four power outlets. To ensure the table can accommodate any type of technology, Vecta partnered with Extron Electronics, a leading manufacturer of professional A/V system integration products, on the design of the TAP. Another feature of Host is its Technology Corridor: two aluminum rails concealed by aluminum doors. The Technology Corridor provides convenient and sufficient volume to stow away all of the power, data, telephone, A/V and microphone cords that are commonly used in the conference room.
Designed by FP Studio in Frankfurt, Germany, Host is manufactured out of 87 percent recycled content and is 97 percent recyclable.
Using proprietary techniques for applying and profiling, the table features signature wood edges and solid wood trimming. Additionally, each TAP comes in either, matte silver or matte black anodized finish and is lined with a solid wood-edge trim. Host is available with a slim, flared, or round base (exclusively for round tables) to conceal technology apparatus while remaining aesthetically pleasing. Host tables are available in rectangle, racetrack, soft radius, boat, and trapezoid shapes. Lengths range from eight to twenty feet with widths of 48 or 60 inches. Round tables are either 48 or 60 inches in diameter. Host tables are available in any Vecta laminate or veneer and table edges come in five solid wood edge profiles. Host will be available for order in June 2007. The list price for a 12'x 5' Host table is $12,000.
