MOSAID Signs Two Seasoned Executives as Intellectual Property Licensing Consultants


OTTAWA, June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MOSAID Technologies Inc. (TSX:MSD) today announced that Roger Stricker and Ted Galanthay will provide consulting services to the Company on patent licensing and other matters related to asserting the Company's intellectual property rights.

"Before their current consulting roles, both Roger and Ted rose to senior positions with multinational companies where they generated significant licensing revenues and dealt with a wide variety of licensing and litigation matters."

As principal of IPLM Associates LLC, Mr. Stricker offers intellectual property services including patent portfolio development, licensing negotiations, litigation support and the development of commercial licensing opportunities. Mr. Stricker was with Lucent Technologies from 1987 to 2004, in his most recent role serving as Vice President, Licensing and Intellectual Property for seven years. He managed four negotiation teams with worldwide licensing responsibilities for the entire Lucent patent portfolio. During his tenure, Lucent's intellectual property business exceeded its revenue commitment by more than 25%, generating average annual licensing revenues of US$250 to US$300 million. Prior to Lucent, Mr. Stricker worked in a variety of semiconductor product engineering roles with AT&T Microelectronics and RCA Corporation. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, and is a member of the Licensing Executive Society and the Electron Device Society of the IEEE.

Mr. Galanthay served on the MOSAID Board of Directors from September 2005 to June 2007. From June to November 2006, he also held the position of Acting Senior Vice President Patent Licensing and General Counsel for MOSAID.

Mr. Galanthay provides a broad range of intellectual property and licensing services to clients ranging from start-up companies to global corporations. As a former Group Vice President of STMicroelectronics, Europe's largest semiconductor company, he led patent license negotiations in Japan, Europe, and the U.S. with many peer companies, patent licensing companies and individual inventors. Previously, he was an intellectual property counsel at IBM for 25 years where, in his last assignment, he served as an executive manager at the Personal Computer Group. Mr. Galanthay holds a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Clarkson University. He is a member of the New York State Bar, the Arizona State Bar and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Bar and is a former co-chair of the semiconductor committee of the Licensing Executive Society.
