CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, June 17 /PRNewswire/ --
(Paris Air Show) -- Goodrich Corporation (NYSE: GR) has been displaying its nacelle systems at the Paris Air Show since it created its first system for Airbus in 1973.
For the past 34 years, Goodrich has operated nacelle facilities strategically placed across the street from Airbus' final assembly lines in both Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany. Over the course of the years, Goodrich teams have also been located under roof at these Airbus sites to ensure full support on its systems. Along the way, Goodrich has been adapting and reconfiguring its production lines to stay closely aligned to Airbus' needs for its entire range of aircraft. In addition to nacelle systems, most recently the Goodrich sites have added A380 main landing gear final assembly to the breadth and depth of production and support services provided to Airbus.
According to Jean Luminet, President of Goodrich's Aerostructures European team, "Air shows are a time for looking toward the future but also a time for reflection on how far our industry has come over the years. I never cease to be amazed at our team's commitment to meeting the needs of our customers in a very dynamic environment. Looking back, what our team has accomplished is even more impressive when you consider that it took 15 years for us to deliver the first 1,000 nacelles to Airbus and 9,000 more have been delivered over the past 19 years. Such growth has created truly enduring bonds between Goodrich and Airbus. Furthermore, our journey using Lean tools to continuously improve our processes has allowed us to evolve and become nimble and flexible enough to fully support all our customers' needs as they continue to change at an exponentially more rapid pace than ever before. Our team is proud of its achievements and we're even more pleased to play a part in Airbus' continued success."
