Peggy Brooker was promoted to partner from senior manager. She serves audit clients in the financial services and retail/consumer products industries. Peggy started her Ernst & Young career in the Los Angeles office of Ernst & Young LLP and the Sydney, Australia, office of Ernst & Young Australia. She later became vice president of finance for an aerospace company, returning to Ernst & Young LLP's Orange County office in 2005. Peggy has a B.S. in accounting from the University of Southern California. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a member of the California Society of CPAs.
Cheryl S. Moreno was promoted to partner from senior manager. She has extensive experience in the health sciences industry, serving both public and private audit clients. Cheryl relocated to Orange County from the firm's Indianapolis office in 1994. As someone who has been on a formal flexible work arrangement for the last nine years, Cheryl exemplifies Ernst & Young's commitment to inclusiveness and flexibility. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Her B.S. in accountancy is from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Gino Bianchini was promoted to principal from senior manager. He serves a diverse group of real estate clients that include opportunity funds, REITs and other owners, operators and developers to address federal tax issues related to all aspects of real estate, including mergers and acquisitions of real estate companies. Gino joined Ernst & Young in 1997 after practicing law in the area of tax controversy and litigation. Gino spent 18 months in the real estate group of the Firm's National Tax Department in Washington, DC. He earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of San Diego and an LL.M. and J.D. from Golden Gate University. Gino is an active member of the State Bar of California.
Alex Waniek was promoted to executive director from senior manager. With more than 15 years of experience in public accounting, Alex provides international tax advisory services to technology and communications companies. His areas of focus include offshore intellectual property structures, tax-efficient supply chain structures, global investment and financing arrangements and repatriation strategies. He is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California. Alex has a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an LL.M. in taxation and J.D. from the University of San Diego.
