Spectris plc announces, in accordance with paragraph 9.6.14 of the Listing
Rules, that Anthony Reading, Non-Executive Director of Spectris plc, ceased to
be a director of George Wimpey plc on 3 July 2007; the date of the merger
between George Wimpey Plc and Taylor Woodrow plc. Mr. Reading was appointed as
a director of the resulting merged entity, Taylor Wimpey plc, on the same date.
