Vista Ventures, a Boulder, Colo.-based venture firm, announced that Lisa Reeves has joined the firm as General Partner. Previously with SAP AG where she was the Senior Vice President of SAP Ventures, Reeves brings more than 14 years in the technology industry and six years in the venture industry to her new role. At Vista, Reeves will be responsible for enterprise software and infrastructure investments. The addition of Reeves makes Vista Ventures one of the few female-owned venture firms in the country.
"Lisa brings an extensive and impressive track record to the firm and deep knowledge of the software industry," said Catharine Merigold, General Partner of Vista Ventures. "She is a proven and experienced member of the venture community, and her expertise and network will be highly valuable as we continue to invest Vista Ventures I and raise our next fund, Vista Ventures II."
According to Kirk Holland, also General Partner, "Our team has known and worked with Lisa for many years. We have co-invested with her, and seen the tremendous value her operating experience and global networks can add to building portfolio companies."
Reeves was with SAP Ventures, the Palo Alto, Calif. and Walldorf, Germany-based corporate venture fund of SAP AG. In addition to direct investing, she was also responsible for the strategy and overall performance for all venture activity on a worldwide basis. SAP Ventures was established in 1997 and focuses on venture investments in private companies in order to drive a financial return to SAP and secondarily, to support and align those companies to SAP's vision and strategy for future market leadership.
"I am excited to join one of the leading Rocky Mountain-based venture firms. The quality of start ups and entrepreneurs in the region is phenomenal and Vista, in particular, is very suited to fund innovative companies in the region," said Reeves. "This is a great opportunity to join the Vista team at a time of tremendous opportunity for the firm."
Prior to SAP Ventures, Reeves spent eight years in consulting, sales, and marketing roles in SAP America. Prior to SAP, Lisa held positions at the Chrysler Corporation. She holds a MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management ("Thunderbird") and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kalamazoo College.
