BOSTON, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Evergreen Investments today announced key leadership appointments within its Institutional division. Joyce Schaer has joined Evergreen as an institutional senior consultant director reporting to Joe Karpinski, managing director of Evergreen's Consultant Relations group. Brian O'Connell has joined Evergreen as Institutional sales director for the Northeast region, reporting to Lisa Wesolek, managing director of asset management sales and consultant relations.

Based in Dallas, Schaer will have responsibility for developing and implementing a targeted communication initiative that focuses on building relationships with and maintaining the flow of information to institutional research and field consultants. Schaer joins the firm after 18 years with Westwood Management Corporation, where she most recently served as director of marketing with responsibility for marketing investment strategies to consultants on a national basis. Schaer also served as a senior institutional client relationship manager, an assistant fixed income portfolio manager and equity trading assistant during her tenure at Westwood.
Based in Boston, O'Connell will have responsibility for new business development opportunities with a focus on the northeastern region of the United States. O'Connell joins the firm from Trusco Capital Management where he was a managing director calling on corporations, public and nonprofit organizations, Taft Hartley, and consultants. Previously, he was a senior consultant in the Business Strategies Group at CRA Rogers Casey. Prior to that, he worked for SEI's Capital Resource Advisors' IMC group as a senior consultant.
