G'Day Australia! Whole Foods Market's(R) Fl@vors E-Newsletter Subscribers Eligible to Win Seven Day Trip for Two to Australia

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Whole Foods Market, the world's leading natural and organic foods supermarket, is offering its Fl@vors e-newsletter subscribers a chance to win a seven-night trip-for-two to Australia.

"For eleven years running, Americans have put Australia on the top of their travel wish lists," said Luke Jones of Tourism Australia. "We've cooked up an amazing travel giveaway sure to thrill Fl@vors subscribers, old and new. Australia's cities are gateways to bite-sized tastes of the whole country, perfect for those who only have a week or two to travel -- and we picked three destinations that are a great mix of dining, nightlife, culture and natural wonders."

The Fl@vors G'Day Australia! Sweepstakes is partnering with Australia.com -- run by Tourism Australia, Australia's national tourism bureau -- to offer subscribers a chance to experience the marvels of Australia from the vantage point of one of three of the country's gastronomic capitals: Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

In order to enter, simply sign up for Fl@vors at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/flavors before October 15, 2007. Current subscribers are automatically entered in the contest. The three grand prize trips available are:

-- Sydney -- A few of the featured activities can include: experiencing the Opera House, soaking up rays at Bondi Beach, taking in nature in the Hunter Valley, grabbing a bite at Sydney's Seafood Market, surfing in clear blue water, walking the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and relaxing in a number of outdoor parks. -- Melbourne -- A few of the featured activities include: shopping the Queen Victoria Market, riding the Circle City Tram, partying in the famed night scene, tasting wine on a sommelier tour of the city, coffee at Pelligrini's Espresso Bar, and learning Australian Rules Football. -- Brisbane -- A few of the featured activities can include: diving in the Great Barrier Reef, taking in the music at the Queensland festivals, viewing nature at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Australia Zoo, and touring the renowned beaches in the area.

Grand prize winners will be drawn at the end of October and announced through Fl@vors in November. Each of the three prize packages includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles, New York, or San Francisco and arriving in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, Australia; seven nights hotel; a city excursion package; and a special day trip of the winner's choice -- a value of $5,000.

In a "green" twist on the contest, 100 percent of the carbon usage for the three grand prize trips will be offset with wind energy credits by Renewable Choice Energy.

In the meantime, take a virtual trip with our selection of recipes inspired by cooks from Down Under and learn how modern Australian cuisine evolved. An article and podcast on Mod Oz, an original and exciting combination of Mediterranean, Asian and aboriginal foods that has vaulted Australia into the vanguard of world cuisines, can be found at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/hungrymind/australiancuisine.html and http://wholefoodsmarket.com/socialmedia/podcast respectively.
