WHY
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your audience will want to know about the latest developments in SDR
technologies and how they're being deployed in applications ranging
from commercial to mission critical.
Technical Conference: More than 130 papers will be presented by an
international array of organizations and universities, including
General Dynamics, Motorola, Northrop Grumman, Alcatel-Lucent
Deutschland, U.S. Defense Department, NASA, University of Colorado,
Virginia Tech, Penn State, Rutgers, Trinity College, Telecom Italia
Lab University of Piraeus, Hanyang University, and Yokohama National
University. Topics include cognitive radio for public safety
communications; mitigating information assurance costs in the SDR
environment; beamforming as an optimal approach for space-based GPS
applications; and using SDRs for precise positioning and attitude
determination of microsatellites.
The Forum will also present winners of its Smart Radio Challenge '07
and the qualifying teams for the 2008 edition; the Smart Radio
Challenge is a worldwide competition in which student engineering
teams design, develop and test software defined and cognitive radio
technologies that address specific problems relevant to the advanced
wireless community. The day before the Conference officially begins,
competing teams will demonstrate their project results, presenting
some very compelling visuals that will show how their solutions can
help the infrastructure of a metropolitan area like Denver; here's an
example: ChallengeProblem3.pdf. More information on the teams and
challenge problems can be found at www.radiochallenge.org.
Product Exposition: Several product announcements are expected at the
exposition, which will feature products and services from more than 25
companies, including Elektrobit, Etherstack, GE Fanuc, General
Dynamics C4 Systems, Green Hills Software, Lyrtech, Objective
Interface Systems, Pentek, PrismTech, Space Coast Communications
Systems, Spectrum Signal Processing, Synplicity, Vanu, Xilinx, and
Zeligsoft.
General Meeting: SDR development leaders from around the world will
discuss key issues related to the technology and its deployment. The
meeting will entail focused plenary sessions addressing both the
business and technical aspects of the Forum.
