(BOVESPA: UGPA4 / NYSE: UGP), a company engaged in fuels distribution (Ultragaz/Ipiranga), in the production of chemicals (Oxiteno), as well as in integrated solutions for special bulk cargo (Ultracargo), hereby reports its results for the third quarter of 2007.
The investments we have made, together with a good performance of the Brazilian economy, continued to generate operational growth in Ultrapar businesses in the third quarter of 2007. Consolidated EBITDA totaled R$ 218 million, up 38% compared to the same period in 2006.
-- Volume at Oxiteno increased by 8% compared to 3Q06 and 10% in the first nine months of the year, with particularly strong growth in specialty chemicals volume -- Average volume stored in meters cubed at Ultracargo increased by 18% compared to 3Q06 and 17% in the first nine months of the year -- Ultrapar moves forward to the penultimate stage of the acquisition process of the Ipiranga Group -- Oxiteno strengthens its leadership in the Americas with the opening of a sales office in the United States and an acquisition in Venezuela -- Ultragaz strenghthens its presence in the north and north east of Brazil and expands its products portfolio
