Intelligentias, Inc. (OTCBB:ITLI), a growing force in the homeland security industry, announced today that Retentia, Inc., its subsidiary focused on the Data Retention software sector, intends to step up its sales and marketing activities in Germany.
"Last Friday, Germany's ruling party, along with Wolfgang Schäuble, the German Minister of the Interior, passed the German Data Retention law in accordance with the guidelines established by the EU Data Retention Directive. This new legislation indicates that every German telco and Internet service provider will be required to keep phone and Internet surfing log data on each subscriber for 6 months. These logs can then be used by the police and intelligence services to help in important criminal investigations, or when online crimes are committed," said Ian Rice, CEO of Intelligentias.
"This new legislation means that service providers will need to upgrade their systems in order to comply with the law. Our software meets these stringent legal requirements and can be installed and maintained far less expensively than competing solutions. In fact our software is the only solution in the market currently capturing and storing over 10 billion Internet log records per day and law enforcement agencies can find a single record across trillions of records in near real time," said Nicola DiTomaso, President of Retentia.
Rice went on to say, "This new legislation provides us with an enormous opportunity and we intend to step up our sales and marketing activity in Germany accordingly. I think Retentia is ideally suited to capture a great deal of new business."
According to the new legislation, all German service providers will have to store the log data for every subscriber for 6 months, including:
- phone calls: the date, time, length and the number called;
- in case of mobile phones, the location of the phone at the time of the call, the IMSI code of the phone and SMS connection data;
- Internet access: the IP address, date, time and length of the connection, and the line which was used; and
- e-mail: e-mail-addresses involved and the header of each e-mail.
The content of the communications is not stored.
About Retentia (http://www.retentia.com)
Retentia, Inc., a subsidiary of Intelligentias, Inc., sells data retention, tracking and forensics software to some of the largest service providers, law enforcement agencies and government agencies in the world. Our data retention solution enables law enforcement agencies to capture and store for very long periods of time -- who a suspect talks on the phone with, their physical location at the time of a call, and what websites they visit. Our solution does this less expensively and with less hardware than competing solutions that rely on relational database technology. Our technology enables law enforcement agencies to maintain the historical call and web-surfing records of suspected criminals and make them available in near real time and for much longer periods of time than was economically feasible in the past. Our Data Retention Suite (DRS) is currently capturing and storing billions of telephone and web-surfing records every day. Law enforcement agencies can search and find a single record across trillions of records in near real time. Retentia provides tamperproof, court-quality forensic evidence that can be used to convict criminals and put them in jail. Our blue-chip client base stretches from the U.S. to Europe and throughout South America.
