Today at GSMA Mobile Innovation Summit at the Mobile Asia Congress, PixSense, a global leader in mobile multimedia solutions, announced it has been chosen as a Top 50 Innovator. The PSP (Preserve, Share, Publish) Platform was named a top innovative consumer application or service. The PixSense PSP Platform is the first platform to enable zero click share of mobile user-generated content between any two mobile phones on any network worldwide, with a seamless sharing experience from mobile-to-web and from PC/web-to-mobile.
The GSMA, the global trade association for mobile operators, set up the Mobile Innovation Programme to help small and medium-sized companies developing innovative mobile products and services reach mobile operators and bring their innovations to end-users. The programme is designed to stimulate and showcase innovation around mobile services and better align innovators with the needs of the mobile industry and its customers. "We are thrilled with the quality of innovations submitted to the Asia Mobile Innovation Awards," said Bill Gajda, Chief Commercial Officer & Chief Marketing Officer of the GSMA. "The Mobile Innovation Programme aspires to create a global environment for getting business done, by discovering and showcasing exceptional products and companies to top executives from operators, VCs and equipment vendors."
The PSP Platform frees users from their digital camera and PC, enabling them to concentrate on capturing their photos or videos from wherever they are, and to share their media phone-to-phone, phone-to-web and web-to-phone. It also enables direct publishing of user-generated content from the handset to third-party websites. This integrates the multimedia mobile phone into the media persona of each user, providing a truly mobile extension of social and personal networking. PixSense's technology also includes patent-pending, on-device media compression technology (compression of up to 10:1) and network optimization technology that ensure fast transfers, and significantly reduces costs to both end users and mobile operators.
"We are very pleased to be named as a Top Innovator in the GSMA Mobile Innovation Asia program, as it recognizes our unique and elegant solution for user-generated content management," said R. Paul Singh, president and CEO of PixSense. "PixSense understands that the mobile handset is evolving into both a digital camera and computer for the end user, so it is important to provide a very rich experience with full capabilities even if the web or a PC is unavailable."
PixSense offers its solution as a hosted software service through mobile operators. The PixSense PSP solution also offers mobile-blogging services and the ability to publish information to multiple social networking services directly from the handset or the web site. The PixSense PSP service is currently available on over 200 handsets, including BREW, J2ME and Symbian and is in field trials and deployments with various mobile operators in Asia and Europe.
PixSense will demonstrate its PSP Platform at GSMA Mobile Asia Congress in Macau, November 13-15, at booth C30 in the main exhibit hall and booth MIZ 15 in the Mobile Innovation Zone.
