An upgradeable, programmable interface for security and remote start installation, compatible with multiple digital databus protocols and thousands of model / year vehicles, the Xpresskit XK400N is capable of working with a wide variety of databus protocols including Class 2, J1850, CAN (Single Wire), CAN (Fault Tolerant), and CAN (High Speed). The result is a single interface that from a hardware perspective is capable of interfacing with most late model vehicles.
New vehicles often require an interface module to enable remote start, and more sophisticated modules also digitally control door locks and other vehicle functions, reducing installation labor. The XK400N will be the only solution retailers will need to enable remote start on virtually any vehicle that drives into their install bay. The installer will quickly download the firmware for the appropriate model / year vehicle, and when new vehicle models are released, the XK400N can be upgraded to support them.
Both the Innovations Award-winning XK400N and the "Best of Innovations" Award-winning Responder LE 2-Way Vehicle Security & Remote Start system are "Powered by Xpresskit" and data-enabled.
The XK400N is dockable in the XpressPort(TM) built-into the CPU of the Responder LE, creating a direct connection with the factory databus. In a typical install on the 2007 Honda Odyssey minivan, the Responder LE can be installed with 9 wires instead of 27, thanks to XK400N. It will be available in the first quarter of 2008 at authorized Directed Electronics retailers worldwide. For other applications, the companion XK400X is a stand alone version of the XK400N that will work with virtually any aftermarket Security, Remote Start, or Convenience system.
