RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- James River Coal Company announced today that it has agreed to sell 4,500,000 shares, with an over-allotment option to sell up to an additional 675,000 shares, of its common stock in a public offering through UBS Investment Bank.

James River Coal Company mines, processes and sells bituminous steam and industrial-grade coal primarily to electric utility companies and industrial customers.
