DALLAS, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonoran Energy, Inc. , the independent oil and gas exploration and production company, is pleased to announce the promotion of two members of their management team. Effective immediately, former Senior Vice President of Operations, Mr. Ralph Watkins and former Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, Mr. Andrew Williams will now serve as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively.
Sonoran Energy's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Rosenthal commented on the appointments: "These promotions demonstrate our commitment to our management team to acknowledge and reward hard work, dedication and positive results. Ralph and Andrew each bring their own unique strengths and abilities to their respective positions, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with each of them as we grow the company."
Mr. Watkins has 24 years of experience in U.S. and international oil and gas development, operations, and engineering management. He previously served in various senior positions including Senior VP of Operations, Sub-Surface Manager - Rajasthan, Production Manager, Project Manager, Head of Production Engineering, Long Range Business Planner, and Well Integrity Coordinator. Mr. Watkins holds a degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.
Mr. Williams has 30 years of oil and gas finance and accounting experience. Prior to joining Sonoran in April, he served as a consultant with Sirius Solutions providing Sarbanes Oxley compliance services to oil and gas clients. His prior experience includes 15 years with BPAmoco, where he held a number of managerial positions in Tulsa, Houston and Chicago. His career started with Ernst and Young where he spent seven years working primarily with public oil and gas companies. Mr. Williams is a Certified Public Accountant and has a BS in Accounting from the University of Arkansas.
