MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- KraftMaid Cabinetry, one of the world's largest cabinetry manufacturers, has earned Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) certification from the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer's Association (KCMA). The following product lines are now certified through this groundbreaking program: KraftMaid(R) Cabinetry, Venicia(TM) by KraftMaid, Cross Creek(TM) by KraftMaid, Ascentia(TM) by KraftMaid, Passport Series by KraftMaid and Premier(TM).
ESP was launched by KCMA to establish a standard for environmental responsibility, answering a growing interest in the use of environmentally friendly products in remodeling and new home construction projects. The program provides a tangible way for cabinet manufacturers to demonstrate to consumers, architects, builders, remodelers and the community, a commitment to sustainability. To achieve certification, requirements must be met in five categories:
-- Air Quality (low-formaldehyde emitting composite wood) -- Product Resource Management (use of recycled and sustainable products) -- Process Resource Management (active recycling and energy conservation programs) -- Environmental Stewardship (environmental policies and active environmental management systems) -- Community relations (service or financial support of community organizations)
"For many years, KraftMaid has made stewardship of the environment and the safety of our customers and employees a top priority," says Mike Newton, President, KraftMaid Cabinetry. "This ESP certification is further recognition of KraftMaid's ongoing commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle and demonstrates how we consider the consequences of today's actions on tomorrow's world. This certification is symbolic of the many ways KraftMaid is committed to environmental responsibility."
