DENVER, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Southwestern travelers needing a tropical getaway at a premier resort destination will have a quick, comfortable and affordable way to get there beginning today as Frontier Airlines begins service between Albuquerque's Sunport International Airport (ABQ) and Puerto Vallarta's Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR). The new service was kicked off this morning with a live mariachi band and Mexican delicacies at the gate, courtesy of the City of Albuquerque. In addition, the Mayor of Albuquerque was on hand to greet passengers as they boarded the packed flight bound for Puerto Vallarta.
"It's a tremendous step forward for the city of Albuquerque," Mayor Martin J. Chavez said. "It makes the Albuquerque International Sunport truly international once again for all of New Mexico." Frontier is currently Albuquerque's only international carrier.
