"Consumers want products that help them connect to friends and family," said Carla Pihowich, Memorex Brand Manager, Imation Corp. "Whether creating a high-def home movie, preserving precious photos or creating a personalized video project on DVD, Memorex has a media product that pulls special memories together."

Memorex SimpleSave Back-up Solution DVDs

It's recording media... It's software... It's an all-in-one back-up solution. Memorex introduces a new, simpler way to back up all your photos and music from your PC to a DVD disc. With Memorex SimpleSave DVDs, consumers can automatically find, organize and back up their photos and music just by inserting the SimpleSave disc into their DVD drive. The back-up software automatically launches from the SimpleSave disc, with no installation required, then finds the designated file types on your PC and saves them onto the very same SimpleSave disc.

According to Harris Research, 96 percent of consumers do not regularly back up their computers because they see the process as confusing, overwhelming and inconvenient. Memorex SimpleSave back-up solution DVDs do it all for you. Use SimpleSave:Photo to find and save all digital images on your PC. Use SimpleSave:Music to do the same for audio files. No additional software or recording media are required.

Memorex SimpleSave:Photo back-up solution DVDs will be available in packs of five discs for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $12.99 per pack. Memorex SimpleSave:Music back-up solution DVDs will be available in packs of three discs for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $9.99 per pack. Memorex SimpleSave back-up solution DVDs will be available at retail starting in April.

Memorex mini Blu-ray Discs

For consumers seeking an easy way to take advantage of high-definition home video recording, Memorex introduces its mini Blu-ray disc. The latest in Memorex's broad line of home video products, Memorex mini Blu-ray discs are available in both BD-R (recordable) and BD-RE (re-recordable) formats, delivering 60 minutes or 7.5 GB of high-definition recording for preserving precious memories.

Compatible with Blu-ray camcorders from Hitachi(TM), Memorex mini Blu-ray discs let consumers create vibrant high-definition video content for playback on flat-panel display HDTVs. Each disc is eight-centimeters in diameter and features a scratch-resistant coating. Memorex mini BD-R and mini BD-RE discs are also compatible with computer recording drives that have Blu-ray recording capability.

Memorex mini Blu-ray discs will be available in April for an SRP of $24.99 for one BD-R disc and $24.99 for one BD-RE disc.

Memorex LightScribe Cool Colors DVD Media

Memorex adds DVD+R media to its best-selling family of LightScribe optical discs. Memorex LightScribe Cool Colors DVD media delivers stunning, laser- etched designs right on the disc surface with five vibrant, jewel-toned backgrounds. Consumers can create home movies, digital scrapbooks, music and data DVDs featuring custom disc prints on red, orange, yellow, blue and green backgrounds.

With Memorex LightScribe media and a LightScribe-enabled optical drive, consumers can create silkscreen quality disc prints using photos, graphics and text, and then inscribe the designs directly onto the specially coated discs. Simply burn the data side of the disc as usual, then flip the disc over and use the same drive to burn a rich, custom label.

Memorex also offers LightScribe Cool Colors CD-R media and LightScribe CD- R and DVD media with a standard gold background. Approximately 49 percent of LightScribe CD-R media and 47 percent of LightScribe DVD media sold at brick- and-mortar retail stores (in units) from January through November 2007 bear the Memorex brand name, according to The NPD Group, a leading independent market analysis firm. Memorex LightScribe Cool Colors DVD+R media will be available in March in packages of 20 for an SRP of $19.99.
