NETGEAR(R) Enables the 'All Access Home' at CES 2008

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NETGEAR, Inc. , a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking solutions, is introducing its family of next-generation Wireless-N networking solutions, expanding its line of wired and wireless network bridges and extenders, and launching a family of robust intelligent network-attached storage devices for consumers at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week from Jan. 7 - 10, 2008. In addition to introducing 18 new products and showcasing its six CES Innovations Award honorees, NETGEAR will host a number of workshops and presentations and will broadcast "Live from CES" to online visitors from around the world, from NETGEAR's "All Access Home," located in booth #36219 in South Hall 4 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The NETGEAR RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router (WNDR3300) delivers the highest Wi-Fi performance for today's Wireless-N notebooks and dual-band adapters while providing simultaneous support for legacy 802.11g devices as well as clients based on 2.4 GHz and/or 5 GHz Wireless-N. The NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless-N Gigabit Router (WNR3500) incorporates an ultra-fast five-port 10/100/1000 Mbps switch (one Gigabit Ethernet WAN and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports), to deliver the fastest possible wireless-to-wired network performance, and an array of eight internal antennas to reduce the effects of RF interference and maximize wireless performance and range. NETGEAR Bridges and Extenders Provide High-Speed, Reliable Network Connectivity for Network-Enabled Devices

Providing high-bandwidth connectivity to the network for network-enabled devices such as laptops, gaming consoles and media adapters, without the need to run unsightly Ethernet cables, requires the use of bridges and extenders. NETGEAR is introducing a variety of wired and wireless bridges and wireless network extenders designed to deliver fast, reliable network connections to support bandwidth-intensive applications around the home.

NETGEAR's Powerline AV Ethernet Kit (XAVB101) and Powerline HD Plus Ethernet Adapter Kit (HDXB111) provide a reliable, high-speed 200 Mbps network connection to the home network and Internet over existing electrical wires to devices such as digital media receivers, set top boxes, game consoles, PCs, or storage devices. Both the XAVB101, which is based on the HomePlug AV standard, and the UPA-based HDXB111, which features built-in power sockets to save power outlet space, provide built-in quality-of-service (QoS), to ensure high-quality connectivity for high-definition video streaming, online gaming and Voice-over-IP (VoIP) applications, and easy operation based on a plug-in design and push-button security setup.

HD/Gaming 5 GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit (WNHDEB111) provides more wireless channels, less interference and better, more reliable, connections to enable high-performance network gaming and simultaneously streaming high-definition videos at the highest-possible Wireless-N speeds. Utilizing the patented metamaterial array of six smart internal antennas to optimize range and avoid RF interference, the HD/Gaming 5 GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit connects to any existing router or gateway and provides quick, easy, secure network connectivity through simple "Push 'N' Connect" using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).

The NETGEAR Plastic Optical Fiber Ethernet Adapter (PF101) is an easy-to-install bridge that utilizes easily bendable and thin plastic optical fiber to transmit large amounts of data from room to room at the speed of light. Compatible with any Ethernet-enabled device, the PF101 delivers data speeds of 100Mbps at distances up to 50 meters over a very small diameter cable that is easy to run along base boards, under carpets and around tight corners, making it an ideal solution for distributing high-definition video across the network to the set-top box.

The 5 Ghz Wireless-N HD Access Point/Bridge (WNHDE111) incorporates six smart metamaterial antennas to optimize range and connects to any existing router or gateway to provide more wireless channels, better connections and less interference. Automatic QoS ensures prioritization of voice, video and gaming traffic for seamless simultaneous task handling. Setup is made simple through plug-and-play, automatic configuration, while "Push 'N' Connect" using WPS ensures an easy, secure Internet connection.

The RangeMax Wireless Signal Extender (WPN824EXT) connects into an existing wireless router or gateway to upgrade and extend the performance and range of an existing network. A patented internal array of seven smart metamaterial antennas for WiFi 802.11g networks deliver optimum range and data throughput performance, making the WPN824EXT an affordable solution to extend the wireless coverage in homes for routers and ISP gateways that have inadequate wireless range. The RangeMax Wireless Signal Extender dynamically selects from an array of hundreds of antenna combinations to find the optimal, interference-free path to each wireless client, delivering a fast, stable wireless connection.

The ReadyNAS(TM) Duo 500GB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (RND2150), ReadyNAS Duo 750GB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (RND2175) and ReadyNAS Duo 1TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (RND2110) are intelligent network storage solutions that enable consumers to centralize, organize and share all digital media in the home with a simple-to-use solution that delivers best-in-class performance, scalability, versatility, and data redundancy that was once reserved for higher-priced business-class solutions.

By simply connecting any digital camera to the front-mounted USB port, ReadyNAS Duo quickly and easily copies the photos, and makes them available to computers, PDAs and other network-enabled devices in the home or across the Internet.
