IceWEB, Inc., www.iceWEB.com (OTCBB:IWEB), announced that the company has begun the installation of a global data delivery system for ESRI (www.esri.com), the world leader in developing geographic information system (GIS) software. IceWEB will be utilizing the newly acquired INLINE FileStorm series of NAS storage units preloaded with a collection of nationwide and worldwide data and served through the INLINE servers loaded with ESRI's ArcGIS Server application software. These systems will present over 500 million files occupying up to 14 TB of data space to ESRI's customers.
John R. Signorello, IceWEB Chairman and CEO said, "ESRI has an extremely complex data delivery challenge. Our newly acquired, INLINE storage solution passed rigorous PVT's (Performance Validation Test) and also met Jetstress requirements to surpass the performance and capacity requirements of ESRI. The system has the technical ability to deliver a highly available and scalable model for both online and in-house data center requirements simultaneously. The Inline Data Appliance produces disk duplication transfer rates approaching 1TB per hour, which is a critical component in developing the technology for massive data duplication and deployment requirements.
INLINE has been partnering with ESRI since 2004 in delivering the Complete© ArcGIS Server line of solutions. These turnkey servers, appliances and storage units are shipped to the customer fully configured and complete with an operating system, ArcGIS Server, and structured storage systems allowing an entire corporate or departmental installation to be completed in a matter of a few hours. In 2007 when ESRI decided to offer, for the first time, a turnkey data appliance with ArcGIS Server, they again selected INLINE to develop and deliver a Complete hardware and software solution for offerings to the commercial and governmental markets. The data appliance offers a collection of Street Data, World Imagery Data, USA Data and USA Prime Data, separately or in bundles, and are manufactured and shipped from INLINE's headquarters in Dulles Virginia.
"The ArcGIS Data Appliance provides an excellent solution for organizations to quickly jump-start their geospatial platform with high-value and high-performance maps and imagery, says Deane Kensok, ArcGIS Data Appliance product manager at ESRI.
"INLINE's twelve year history with data storage and data applications was paramount in our enthusiasm for this acquisition. They have developed a unique ability to deploy appliance servers and storage systems that solve the needs of many software developers for their mid-tier customers, Signorello added. "IceWEB's Online and Solutions Group's customer base will be greatly served by adding this complimentary storage and archiving capability.
