EnerSys to Expand Warrensburg, Mo. Plant to Meet Customer Demand

READING, Pa., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EnerSys , the world's largest manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of industrial batteries, recently announced it will expand its manufacturing facility in Warrensburg, Mo. The plant manufactures EnerSys' proprietary line of premium thin plate pure lead (TPPL) technology products including Armasafe Plus(R), Genesis(R), Hawker(R), ODYSSEY(R) and Powersafe(R). This plant expansion will increase its manufacturing capacity by 50 percent which is necessitated by the growing demand from premium automotive, telecommunications, aerospace and defense, and other industrial users where increased power and reliability are required.

"EnerSys constantly is evaluating the levels and needs of our customers, so that we may deliver quality and reliable products with no interruptions. This plant expansion will allow EnerSys to support our customers by providing product support, customer service and dependable power."

The plant expansion will take place over a two-year period, increasing the plant's square footage from 365,000 to 500,000. It also will create about 180 jobs in the local Warrensburg area.
