Waters, who will be based in Tokyo, will oversee National's sales and marketing efforts in Japan and report to Michael Noonen, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Sales. He replaces Juergen Heldt who passed away on February 15.

Heldt became vice president of National's Japan office in 2000. Waters first joined National in 1987. His roles with the company have spanned a variety of product groups and disciplines, with positions in engineering, operations, marketing and general management including serving as product line director for National's Interface Product Group. Outside of his work at National, Waters worked in management consulting, as well as in research and development for Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. in Atsugi, Japan.
