BRIDGEPORT, Conn., March 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- People's United Bank announced today that Jared Shaw has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Mergers and Acquisitions. In this position, Shaw will serve as the liaison to the investment community and will be an integral part of the team evaluating potential acquisitions.

Shaw joins People's United Bank from the Hartford office of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, the New York-based investment banking firm specializing in banking and financial services. While with Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Shaw was an equity analyst covering community banks and thrifts in New England, New York and portions of the mid-Atlantic region.

Prior to Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Shaw served as Vice President, Equity Research, at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co., Inc., an investment management and stock analyst firm in Arlington, VA. He began his career as an associate in the firm's investment banking area.
A graduate of St. Paul's School in Concord, NH, Shaw holds a bachelor of arts degree from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. He resides in Farmington, CT.
