Paul McLeary Named Senior Editor of Defense Technology International

NEW YORK, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Defense technology journalist Paul McLeary, who most recently was a freelance contributing editor for Defense Technology International (DTI) magazine, has joined the AVIATION WEEK editorial team full-time as DTI's senior North American editor based in Washington, D.C.

Over the past year, McLeary has contributed stories about the Future Combat Systems program, Stryker vehicle platforms, biometric technologies, and the technologies being leveraged by terrorists. His most recent article in April's DTI reports on his experiences while embedded in a Stryker brigade on a mission northwest of Baghdad in the 19-ton General Dynamics armored vehicle. Read the story on page 37 at http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/aw/dti0408. Prior to writing for DTI, McLeary was a senior writer at the Columbia Journalism Review. He has also contributed to Foreign Policy, Los Angeles Times, Christian Science Monitor, The Weekly Standard, Center for American Progress, Mother Jones, The Guardian, and CBS.com, and has been a guest on NPR's Day to Day.

"Everyone at DTI and AVIATION WEEK is excited to have Paul join us full-time," said Gregory D. Hamilton, publisher, DTI. "Paul's enthusiasm, superb writing skills, and breadth of experience in the defense and technology sectors will enrich our print and online content and will provide vital insight for an industry striving to serve the warfighter."

DTI, part of the McGraw-Hill Companies' AVIATION WEEK portfolio, is an integrated media business dedicated to covering the interplay of defense technology, funding, operations, programs and policies. Worldwide print circulation includes 38,000 military, government and defense industry decision-makers, as well as defense infrastructure opinion leaders and influencers.
