RICHMOND, Va., May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dominion today announced the planned retirements of two long-serving senior executives.
Eva Teig Hardy, executive vice president, will step down from her responsibilities as head of Public Policy & Corporate Communications, effective May 12. She will remain a senior adviser to Chairman, President and CEO Thomas F. Farrell II until her retirement on Sept 1. She also will lead the company's Climate Change Initiative.
Billy F. Warf, vice president and general auditor, will retire July 1 after 25 years of service with Dominion.
The company also announced two promotions.
Robert M. Blue, vice president-State & Federal Affairs, has become senior vice president-Public Policy & Corporate Communications, reporting to Farrell. He is responsible for state and federal government affairs, environmental programs, corporate communications, community affairs and philanthropy.
Patricia G. Shell, controller-Dominion Energy, will become vice president and general auditor upon Warf's retirement. She also will report to Farrell.
Hardy joined Dominion in 1990 as vice president-Government Affairs of what is now Dominion Virginia Power. She later added responsibility for corporate communications and was promoted to senior vice president. She assumed responsibility for all Dominion government affairs and corporate communications in 1999. Hardy was promoted to executive vice president in 2006.
Before joining Dominion, Hardy had a 17-year career in state and local government, culminating as secretary of Health and Human Resources from 1986 to 1990 in the administration of Virginia Gov. Gerald L. Baliles. She serves on numerous boards and is the vice chair of the State Council of Higher Education.
She is a recipient of the Oliver W. Hill Citizen of the Year award, the Thomas Jefferson Award from the Richmond Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and the L. Douglas Wilder Public Service Award from Virginia Commonwealth University. She was inducted into the VCU Communications Hall of Fame and received an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Norfolk State University. Hardy has a bachelor's degree in political science from Hood College and a master's degree in government and public administration from American University.
"After a distinguished career in the public sector, Eva's considerable skills in government and community affairs have helped make Dominion the outstanding company it is today," Farrell said. "Her expertise will be sorely missed, and we wish her all the best in retirement."
Warf joined Dominion's audit department in 1983, and has served as chief audit executive since 1994. From 1972 to 1983, he was an audit manager with what is now Deloitte in Raleigh, N.C.
A Vietnam War veteran, Warf is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and is active with Boy Scouts of America. He is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor's degree in finance from Virginia Tech.

Blue joined Dominion in 2005 as managing director-State Affairs & Corporate Public Policy and was promoted to his current position in 2006. From 2002 to 2005, he served as counselor and director of policy for Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Yale Law School, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Yale Law and Policy Review.
Shell joined Dominion in 1997 as general auditor for Dominion's non- utility businesses. She held a number of other accounting positions in the company before assuming her current position in 2007. Shell worked at what is now Deloitte and Ernst & Young before joining Dominion. She is a CPA and has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Virginia Tech.
Dominion also announced that Farrell will assume responsibility as CEO of Dominion Virginia Power upon the previously announced retirement of Jay L. Johnson from that position on July 1. David A. Heacock, president of Dominion Virginia Power, will report to Farrell.
Also, effective today, the following changes will take place at Dominion Virginia Power:
-- David W. Green, vice president-Customer Service, has been promoted to senior vice president-Customer Service. Green joined Dominion in 1980 and held management positions in budgeting, finance and customer service before being promoted to vice president in 2003. He has a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from Old Dominion University. He will report to Heacock upon Johnson's retirement. -- Gianna C. Clark, managing director-Six Sigma, has been promoted to vice president-Customer Operations. Clark joined Dominion in 1981 and has served in several director-level positions in Generation and Dominion Resources Services since 1991. She has a bachelor's degree in general studies from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. She reports to Green. -- Keith G. Wooldridge, director-Electric Distribution Business Planning, has been promoted to vice president-Energy Conservation & Customer Solutions. Wooldridge joined Dominion in 1975 as an electric lineman and has been a member of the company's leadership team for more than 21 years. He has a business management degree from Tidewater Community College and attended Duke University's Executive Education Program and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Business Dynamics program. He also reports to Green.
