Tideworks Technology® Inc., a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced the availability of the latest version of Terminal View, a dynamic, three-dimensional tool that enables port and intermodal operators to zoom into any area of the terminal and monitor operations in real-time through an intuitive and extremely rich user interface.
Tideworks' Terminal View is a part of its Traffic Controlâ„¢ system, which provides terminal operators with dynamic control of Container Handling Equipment and electronic dispatching of work instructions. The combined system is a highly flexible tool that provides greater operational efficiencies and enhanced ROI for terminals, as it eliminates the need for paper instructions and optimizes the utilization of costly handling equipment. Furthermore, with the effective utilization of the Container Handling Equipment, maintenance and fuel costs can be drastically reduced.
Terminal View provides access to real-time views of the moves assigned to equipment on the terminal and gives terminal staff the ability to modify those moves, either by placing them on hold or by reassigning them to other equipment. Additionally, when deployed in conjunction with Differential Global Positioning Systems (DGPS) or other locate technologies, Terminal View shows the current status and location of the equipment throughout the terminal. The program utilizes filters, colors and other graphical aids that represent the various operations of the terminal in a three-dimensional view.
