EDS Positioned in the 'Leaders' Quadrant for North American Managed and Professional Network Service Providers

PLANO, Texas, May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EDS, a leading global information technology services company, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for Managed and Professional Network Service Providers, North America, 1H08/2008"(i) report.

Gartner, a leading analyst firm, states companies positioned in the Leaders quadrant "are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are building competencies to sustain their leadership positions in the market." The report also notes "vendor and customer experience weighs heavily in the Leaders quadrant. All of these vendors have demonstrated that they have significant network management and outsourcing experience, and understand the dynamics needed to deliver network-centric IT services successfully."

"We are pleased Gartner placed EDS in the leaders quadrant for managed and professional network service providers," said Ray Thietten, vice president of Global Network Services. "As our clients' business ally, EDS manages the growing complexities of deploying and operating network infrastructure as it becomes increasingly critical to enterprise performance. Network services are an area of intense focus for us at EDS, and, in my opinion, our position in the Leaders quadrant confirms our effort and investment is on target."

EDS was one of 18 external service providers evaluated in the report. According to the report, "Gartner evaluates vendors on the quality and efficacy of the processes, methods or procedures that enable them to be competitive, efficient and effective, and to positively affect revenue, retention and reputation."

EDS' comprehensive suite of Networking Services focuses on areas that add the most value for the company's clients. Acting as the client's business ally, EDS manages wide area network (WAN) performance and drives increasingly higher levels of performance at the lowest cost; provides robust and secure local area network (LAN) infrastructure management; delivers high-performance applications across the LAN and WAN; and provides secure unified communications and collaboration.

Hensoldt, Renk & Rheinmetall teuer
