LANCASTER, Pa., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Armstrong World Industries, Inc. has named John F. Breuninger vice president - Business Development, responsible for identifying, evaluating and negotiating new business opportunities for long-term growth. These opportunities include acquisitions, mergers, licensing and joint venture investments.
Breuninger joins AWI from A.T. Kearney management consulting where he was senior manager of the consumer goods and retail practice. At A.T. Kearney, he held leadership roles in domestic and global projects involving multibillion- dollar mergers and acquisitions, marketing strategy, operations improvement and supply chain optimization.
Earlier in his career, Breuninger was a staff engineer in the television manufacturing and development group at Sony Electronics in Pittsburgh, and a chemical engineer with Thomson Multimedia in France, Poland, Mexico and the U.S. He holds a U.S. patent for inventing new display technology for high- definition televisions and computer displays.
Breuninger earned a master's degree in business administration in Marketing and Finance at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he was a Sony Scholar and completed the Global Immersion Program in China. He has a bachelor of science degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
