WARSAW, Ind., June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Zimmer Holdings, Inc. announced today that it will partner with AmeriCares, one of the world's leading non-governmental organizations providing in-kind medical donations, to support emergency response and ongoing medical assistance. Zimmer has initially committed product valued at $1 million to three of AmeriCares' primary programs: Global Medical Assistance, Medical Outreach and Emergency Response. AmeriCares will be responsible for assessing and matching patient needs within their Global Medical Assistance and Emergency Response programs with Zimmer's product lines, as well as screening all international medical volunteer applications referred to their Medical Outreach Program. Zimmer will not be involved in selecting the recipients of the product it donates through AmeriCares.

Zimmer products such as joint replacements, spinal systems, trauma products, burn care and dental implants are frequently used to address injuries or diseases that result from natural disasters or lack of advanced medical care.
