Three stories high and assembled from 55 containers, the Exiderdome is stocked top to bottom with the latest in manufacturing technology. Also called "the World of Automation," the 220 ton display opened at Chicago's Navy Pier and contains hi-tech multimedia shows and demonstrations on everything from micro automation, to sensors, to human machine interface. While most consumers may not recognize these terms or technologies at first glance, the reality is they help bring many of the goods and services we all enjoy to the table.
Chicago is the first stop on the Exiderdome's nine city, ten month, U.S. tour. From there, the learning laboratory will be broken down and reassembled at each stop, wrapping up in Houston in May of next year.
