LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spherion Corporation today announced it has been named as a top provider of recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) services in HRO Today's annual RPO Baker's Dozen ranking. Spherion received the second highest overall designation among enterprise-wide RPO providers and was recognized as the leader in client satisfaction and service quality evaluations, receiving the highest score in that critical category.
This year's list ranked the top 13 providers of RPO services -- both in the U.S. and internationally -- and was based on three categories: breadth of service, size of deals and quality of service. Spherion was consistently ranked as one of the top providers across all three categories and was named second in overall deal size in addition to the top ranking in quality of service.

Due to the scale and overall growth of the RPO industry, HRO Today created three separate rankings within the Baker's Dozen to evaluate a broad range of providers. These included global leaders, providers with a strong presence outside of North America; emerging market leaders, providers that are not large enough to be included on the top 13 ranking, but due to their high growth mode and scale maturity are important to acknowledge; and enterprise RPO leaders, which is the traditional annual ranking that includes the top 13 providers that offer full-service RPO primarily in the North American market.
The Baker's Dozen recognizes the top providers in each segment, which requires the provider to have a minimum of seven clients participate in the survey, three of which had to be different clients and include two multi-year contracts. This year marked the largest sample size and included over 260 buyers of RPO services. Based on the three indices -- breadth of service, size of deals and quality of service -- HRO Today used a weighted algorithmic statistical analysis to evaluate the data provided by customers to determine this year's rankings. The publication contacted 45 of the largest RPO providers to participate and Spherion received the accolade of being among the top 13.
