Southwest Securities Builds Sales Team

DALLAS, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Securities has expanded its Clearing Services division, adding four sales representatives.

Michael Dunne, Dan Nordvedt and John Duffy will develop new correspondent relationships for Southwest Securities with Broker-Dealers and Registered Investment Advisors. Charles Byron, will work with existing correspondents as a business-building partner, recruiting new representatives, expanding the products and services offered and developing training programs. Each sales representative brings extensive clearing sales experience to the team.

"We have an exciting story to tell, and our expanded sales team will allow us to reach more prospective clients."

Dunne, senior vice president, has been in clearing sales for more than 25 years. He was vice president of clearing sales at Broadcort, a division of Merrill Lynch. Dunne also served in clearing, institutional and execution sales, as well as in business development and management roles, at PreferredTrade, Knight Trading Group, Mesirow Europe Limited and Mesirow Financial in the United States and United Kingdom. Dunne earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics at Illinois State University.

Nordvedt, vice president, has worked in the securities and banking industries since he began his career with Hayden Stone & Co. LLC in 1967. His experience includes positions in consulting, sales, management, technology and broker-dealer relations at The McGraw-Hill Companies, Southwest Securities, Kingland Systems and Penson Financial Services. At Security Pacific National Bank in the 1980s, Nordvedt was integral in establishing a retail broker-dealer and securities distribution channel, and he participated in the integration of the municipal securities dealer and retail broker-dealer. Duffy, vice president, has more than 15 years of experience as a sales representative. He helped develop business at The Reserve Funds, Fiserv, Fidelity Investments, Pershing Advisor Solutions and Penson Financial Services. He is an alumnus of Caldwell College.

Byron, assistant vice president, has been in the financial services industry since 1994. He joins Southwest Securities from 1st Global, where he was responsible for managing ongoing relationships with estate planning attorneys and multi-partner CPA firms. Byron has trained CPAs, attorneys and financial advisors to increase revenue, maximize relationships with clients and enhance efficiency. Byron attended Drexel University in Philadelphia.
