NEW YORK, Aug. 19, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- AMERIGROUP Community Care of New York will host its First Annual Back-To-School Festival on Saturday, August 23 from noon to 6:00 p.m. in Manhattan's Riverbank State Park.
The AMERIGROUP C.A.R.E.S. (Community Assistance & Resources to Empower Students) Festival will benefit local children and families by supplying items such as: book bags, pen and pencil sets, writing paper, notebooks and numerous other school supplies all free of charge.
"Back-to-school is an important time for the community, and we are always seeking additional ways to get involved in the neighborhoods where we work and serve," said Robert Wychulis, Chief Executive Officer of AMERIGROUP Community Care in New York. Children and their families will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of other activities such as health screenings, seminars, demonstrations and numerous sports activities.
