HOUSTON, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Marathon Oil Corporation announced today that the Company will contribute $1.5 million to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricanes Ike and Gustav relief efforts. One million dollars will be allocated to Hurricane Ike, with the remaining $500,000 targeted for ongoing Hurricane Gustav relief efforts. The Company is also closely monitoring the needs of its employees in the areas that are expected to be impacted by Hurricane Ike, and is prepared to provide assistance to these employees and their families as soon as the storm passes.
