GeoEye Named Jeanine Montgomery as Vice President, Accounting and Corporate Controller

DULLES, Va., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GeoEye, Inc. , a premier provider of satellite, aerial and geospatial information, announced today the appointment of Jeanine Montgomery to the position of vice president, accounting and corporate controller.

As the Company's principal accounting officer, Ms. Montgomery manages all of GeoEye's accounting operations, regulatory reporting and SEC compliance, as well as its treasury and tax operations.

Prior to joining GeoEye, Ms. Montgomery served over three years as assistant controller at USA Mobility, a leading provider of wireless and messaging communications. Ms. Montgomery has more than 20 years of financial and accounting management experience in government contracting, digital technology and staffing services. She began her career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Ms. Montgomery earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Virginia. She is a licensed certified public accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Update on GeoEye-1

GeoEye launched its newest satellite, GeoEye-1, from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. on Sept. 6, 2008. The satellite is currently undergoing system check-out and calibration.

Bill Schuster, GeoEye's chief operating officer, commented, "We are making progress each day in bringing GeoEye-1 into service. We have tested every subsystem of the satellite and all hardware is operating properly. We expect to be delivering high-quality color imagery to our customers in the near future when our initialization and calibration activities are complete."
